Cruise Weddings
Booking & Payment
QWhen can I book my wedding or vow renewal?
AYou can book your wedding or vow renewal as soon as Disney Cruise Line itineraries are released, which is typically 12 to 18 months in advance.
Because Disney’s Fairy Tale Weddings can only host a limited number of celebrations per sailing, we highly recommend booking your cruise and wedding package as early as possible.
To learn more about wedding and vow renewal options, contact Disney Fairy Tale Weddings. To explore itineraries and book your sailing, please call the Disney Cruise Line Contact Center or visit the Disney Cruise Line website.
QHow do I reserve my wedding or vow renewal celebration on the ship?
ATo book your sailing and your ceremony, please call the Disney Cruise Line Contact Center. You can also explore itineraries by visiting the Disney Cruise Line website. If you have reserved a cruise through your travel advisor, they can also book the celebration on your behalf.
QWhat is the difference in price between a wedding and a vow renewal package?
AOur celebration packages are designed to be equally magical for both weddings and vow renewals, so the price and package elements are the same for each.
QDo all of my Guests need to have their cruise reservations booked before I can book my ceremony?
ANo. Only the couple's cruise reservation is required to book your ceremony package. We do, however, recommend that your Guests book as early as possible to ensure stateroom availability.
QWhat is the cost of a Disney Cruise Line wedding celebration?
AThe starting price for a Disney's Fairy Tale Wedding or Vow Renewal package depends on your ceremony location.
- Onboard ceremony: Packages start at $4,000
- Premium Onboard Ceremony: Packages start at $5,000
- Island Ceremony: Packages start at $6,000
QWhat deposits are required to begin planning?
A To reserve your celebration, separate deposits are required for your cruise vacation and your ceremony package.
Cruise Reservation Deposit: You can secure your Disney Cruise Line vacation with as little as 10% of the total cruise fare due at the time of booking. You can then make payments over time, with the final balance due 90 to 120 days prior to your sailing date, based on voyage length.)
Ceremony Package Deposit: Your Disney's Fairy Tale Weddings ceremony package is added after your cruise reservation has been confirmed. A refundable deposit of 10% is required to secure your desired ceremony date and time. This deposit is due when your ceremony package is officially added to your Disney Cruise Line reservation.
QCan I pay over time?
AYes, you can pay over time. Your cruise reservation and attached wedding package must be paid in full by the final payment date, which is 90 to 120 days prior to sailing (based on your cruise length). You can make incremental payments toward the balance at any time before this deadline or pay the remaining balance in one lump sum by the final payment date.
QCan I use Disney Gift Cards to pay for my wedding?
AYes. Disney Gift Cards should be consolidated prior to making payment. Please visit the Disney Gift Card website for more information.
QWhat is your cancellation or postponement policy?
AA Disney's Fairy Tale Weddings ceremony will be added as a package to your overall cruise reservation. Canceling the package, therefore, follows the same cancellation policy as your cruise reservation. Visit Disney Cruise Line Terms and Conditions to learn more.
QOnce my ceremony is booked, how do I begin planning?
AOnce your ceremony deposit is confirmed, your planning journey begins! A member of the Disney's Fairy Tale Weddings team will be in touch within 24 to 72 business hours. They will send your Ceremony Planning Guide via email and connect you with your dedicated Disney Wedding Manager. They will be your personal contact moving forward, helping you plan every detail and answering all your questions along the way.
QWhat else should I know about my Disney Cruise Line vacation or celebration?
APlanning your cruise is just as exciting as planning the ceremony! Here are a few key things to keep in mind
- Travel Documents: Ensure you and your Guests have all necessary documents, like proper ID or passports, well in advance.
- Onboard Fun: You can pre-book activities like adult-exclusive dining or spa treatments once your cruise is paid in full and your booking window opens.
- Guest Experience: Your Disney Wedding Manager can help coordinate special requests or activities for your wedding party.
Ceremonies & Celebrations
QMay I choose the day and time of my ceremony?
AWe understand how important your ceremony schedule is! Here’s how the timing for your special day is decided:
You Can State a Preference: You can absolutely share your preferred ceremony day and time with your Disney Wedding Manager, and we will do our best to accommodate your request.
Scheduling: To ensure your event fits seamlessly with all the other magical activities happening on board, our team coordinates with the ship's crew to find the ideal time.
Confirmation: Your confirmed ceremony date and time will be provided to you 45 days prior to your sail date.
For the safety and enjoyment of everyone on board, all scheduled times are subject to change based on weather or other unforeseen ship-wide needs.
QIf I am having an onboard ceremony, may I choose my location?
AWe know that choosing the perfect backdrop for your ceremony is important! Here is how the location process works for onboard ceremonies:
Request Your Preference: You can request your preferred ceremony location from our list of beautiful onboard venues. We will make every effort to accommodate your first choice.
Location Confirmation: Your ceremony location will be finalized and confirmed with you 45 days before you sail.
On rare occasions, the confirmed location may need to change due to unforeseen events, such as inclement weather or other shipboard activities. These changes are made at the ship's discretion to ensure the safety and best possible experience for you and your Guests.
QHow long typically will a celebration last?
AThe total time for your celebration depends on the package you choose. All packages include a 15- to 20-minute ceremony, with the remaining time dedicated to your Cake & Champagne Celebration.
Standard Onboard Package: 1 hour total
Grand Hall/Atrium Package: 2 hours total (includes 30 minutes dedicated to photo time)
Disney Castaway Cay Package: 2 hours total
QWho will perform the ceremony?
AA non-denominational officiant performs all onboard ceremonies. For Disney Castaway Cay ceremonies, a Bahamian government administrator will officiate. Should you choose to provide your own officiant, you may elect to do so. Please note that your own officiant must have a cruise reservation booked and will also be included in your overall Guest count.
QIs the legal ceremony separate from the ceremony that takes place during my cruise vacation?
AYes. The legal aspects of the marriage, and the associated paperwork, should be filed separately in your home state.
QCan we provide a unity ceremony?
ADue to Disney Cruise Line safety guidelines and US Customs regulations, unity ceremonies that involve certain elements such as open flames, liquids or loose materials are not permitted. We do, however, encourage you to personalize your ceremony in other meaningful ways. Many couples ask a friend to read a special poem or verse, play a special song or ask a family member to give the toast.
QMay we write our vows?
AYes. Couples have the option of reciting their own vows during the ceremony.
QCan I bring silk petals to toss?
ATo protect the marine environment, the tossing of silk or other artificial petals is not permitted at outdoor venues like the ship's deck or Disney Castaway Cay.
As a beautiful and eco-friendly alternative, we offer fresh, biodegradable rose petals that are approved for tossing. These can be added as an enhancement to your wedding package.
QWhat happens in the event of inclement weather during my celebration?
AIn the case of inclement weather, your dedicated Onboard Wedding Coordinator is there to take care of everything.
Our first step is always to try and preserve your original vision by adjusting the ceremony time. If the weather makes that impossible, your Onboard Wedding Coordinator will move your celebration to a beautiful, designated indoor venue. They will handle all the details, including notifying your Guests.
QWhen do I get to meet my onboard wedding coordinator?
AOn embarkation day, the plans you've made with your Disney Wedding Manager are handed off to your dedicated Onboard Wedding Coordinator, who will oversee your ceremony on the ship. You will meet them for the first time on the afternoon you board the ship.
To ensure enough time to check in and board, please plan to arrive at the Disney Cruise Line terminal no later than 12:00 PM (noon).
QHow many guests may attend?
AGuest count can vary based on venue capacity. Disney’s Fairy Tale Weddings package pricing is based on 16 Guests plus the couple (18 people total). If venue space allows, additional Guests may be accommodated for an extra fee.
QIs there a charge for additional guests or vendors?
AShould you have more than 18 people attending (16 Guests plus the couple), a $20 per person fee will be applied to your final invoice. The fee covers additional cake, champagne and event staffing.
Please note the following:
Please note the following:
- Vendors: Any outside vendors you hire (such as photographers, officiants or videographers) count as Guests toward your total.
- Infants: Children under the age of 3 do not count toward the total and may attend free of charge.
- Large Parties: For parties over 50 people, special arrangements are required. Please notify your Disney Wedding Manager in advance if you anticipate a group of this size.
QWhat options do I have if my wedding attire gets wrinkled while traveling?
AComplimentary pressing and/or steaming for the couple’s wedding attire is included in your event package.
We strongly recommend that you hand-carry your wedding attire onto the ship. Once on board, drop off your wedding attire at Guest Services so it can be sent to the laundry for pressing/steaming.
Please note, this service is not recommended for delicate materials such as silk or garments with heavy beading, as it may cause damage.
Enhancements
QWhat photography and videography options are available through Disney Cruise Line?
AWhile photography is not a service included in our celebrations, we do offer separate photography packages. Pricing and options will be provided in your planning guide.
Please note that your photography package must be selected prior to boarding the ship should you choose to add one.
At this time, Disney Cruise Line does not offer videography packages.
QMay I bring my own photographer or videographer?
AYes. You are welcome to bring your own photographer or videographer, should you elect to do so. Please note that your vendors must have a cruise reservation booked and will be included in your overall Guest count.
QAm I able to book a post-cruise portrait session at a Walt Disney World Resort theme park?
AYes. Your Disney Wedding Manager can provide more information and help you book your session with Disney Fine Art Photography.
QMay I customize my bouquet?
AOur bouquets have been carefully selected for their lasting power and vibrancy, ensuring they remain fresh throughout your sailing. To ensure optimal freshness, we offer the bouquet choices showcased in the planning guide. In certain ports, upgrades are available. For a personal touch, we suggest providing your own pin or brooch, which can be added to your bouquet on your wedding day.
QMay I add additional floral enhancements for my bridal party?
AYes. Additional floral and select décor can be added to your celebration. Certain floral selections will vary by port and seasonality. Additional options and pricing will be available in your planning guide.
QCan we have Disney Characters at our wedding celebration?
APrivate Character appearances are currently on pause, but we hope to bring this magical enhancement back soon.
Should they become available for your sailing, please know that Characters join the Cake & Champagne Celebration rather than the ceremony itself. Availability is always subject to ship approval. Your Disney Wedding Manager will have the most up-to-date information and can notify you if this option becomes available for your event.
QWill hair and makeup services be available aboard the ship?
AYes. The Spa and Salon aboard the ship offers a full range of hair, makeup, massage and beauty services. The operating hours of the salon vary by ship. Given the limited number of appointments available per sailing/per day, we highly recommend discussing your needs with your Disney Wedding Manager as early as possible to secure your desired time for your wedding day services.
Please visit DisneyCruise.com for information about additional spa offerings.
Q Can I order stateroom gifts for my Guests?
AYes! You can pre-order onboard gifts and have them delivered to your Guests’ staterooms on embarkation day.
How to order:
- Visit Disney Cruise Line Onboard Gifts and select “Browse by Departure Port.”
- Choose your departure port, ship and sail date to see the gifts available for that itinerary.
- Pick the items you want, assign them to the appropriate stateroom(s) and check out.
- Have your reservation number, Guest last names and stateroom numbers handy.
- Order early—availability and order cut-off dates vary by port and items may sell out.
- Age-restricted items (like alcohol) require the recipient to be 21 years of age or older.
- If you need assistance or are placing a large group order across multiple staterooms, call the Disney Cruise Line Contact Center for help.
QMay I provide my own stateroom gifts?
AYes. You are responsible for transporting the items onto the ship. You will then work with your Disney Wedding Manager and Onboard Wedding Coordinator to arrange the delivery of your welcome gifts to your Guests’ staterooms. There is a $2 charge per stateroom that will be billed to your onboard stateroom account.
QIs it possible to “register” for excursions or stateroom credits?
AYes. While we don't offer a formal registry, your friends and family can contribute to your cruise experience by adding onboard credit to your stateroom account (which can be used for excursions, spa treatments, specialty dining and more) or by purchasing specific onboard gifts and amenities.
Have your Guests visit Disney Cruise Line Onboard Gifts. They will need to locate your reservation, then select “Browse by Departure Port” to view available stateroom gifts and amenities for your sailing before adding an amenity or onboard credit to your stateroom account.
QHow do I pay for upgrades or enhancements?
AYour Disney Wedding Manager will provide you with a final payment invoice to review 30 days prior to your sailing. Any upgrades or enhancements you’ve added will appear on this invoice. An encrypted link will be sent to you to provide your payment information for the invoice.
Food & Beverage
QMay we add additional food and drink to our Cake & Champagne Celebration?
AYes. If you are looking to enhance your Cake & Champagne Celebration with additional refreshments, light bites or beverage packages, your Disney Wedding Manager will work with you to provide curated menus and pricing options.
QWe are having dinner immediately following the ceremony. May we have any leftover cake brought to dinner for us to enjoy for dessert?
AUnfortunately, no. Due to health and safety regulations, food items, including your wedding cake, cannot be re-served once they have left the galley. Therefore, we are unable to serve leftover cake at dinner. However, we would be happy to box any remaining cake for you to enjoy in your stateroom later.
QMay I bring my own cake topper?
AYes. You may provide your own cake topper, provided it is no larger than 6 inches in diameter and is designed to rest entirely on the cake’s surface. No part of the topper may pierce the cake due to United States health code regulations aboard the ship
QMay we invite our adult Guests to join us during our meal at Palo?
AYes. Your Disney Wedding Manager can help reserve additional seats for your adult Guests to join you at your meal. Please note there is an additional charge per adult to dine at Palo, and alcoholic beverages and service fees are extra.
For larger parties, Palo also offers a private dining room.
On the Disney Magic, Disney Wonder, Disney Dream and Disney Fantasy, this private room can accommodate up to 14 Guests, including the couple.
On the Disney Wish, Disney Treasure and Disney Destiny, it can accommodate up to 10 Guests, including the couple.
QWe have children attending our wedding celebration. Are they allowed to join us for meal at Palo?
APalo is an adult-exclusive dining venue, reserved exclusively for Guests ages 18 and older, and no exceptions can be made. To enjoy dinner with your entire family on your celebration evening, we suggest choosing the scheduled dining rotation. You can always reserve your Palo experience for another night during your cruise.
